Our Story

David Wooding, the owner of Clayton Flooring Center, got his start in the flooring industry in 1987.

He opened Clayton Flooring Center in January 2004 with a simple goal:

To bring the kind of personalized, high-quality flooring experience that big-box stores simply can't offer to the people of Clayton and the surrounding communities.

More than 20 years later, that mission hasn't changed!

David remains actively involved in the business and in the local community. Clayton Flooring Center is a proud member of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, the Clayton Chamber Foundation, the Johnston County Thank-A-Vet Program, and the National Wood Flooring Association, among many other community organizations and partnerships.
