In our experience, solid hardwood and install is the classic choice for main floors, while engineered hardwood and install makes more sense over slabs or in rooms with more moisture. A lot of our customers love Mohawk's TecWood engineered hardwood because it pairs real wood looks with a tough, low-maintenance finish.
One piece of real wood from top to bottom. You can sand and refinish it many times, so it's a great pick for living rooms and dining rooms you plan to love for decades.

Solid hardwood has a superpower: you can refinish it. If your floors are scratched, faded or stuck in a honey tone from years ago, we can refinish hardwood flooring so it looks new again, usually for a lot less than replacing it.
Our team sands down to fresh wood, repairs loose or damaged boards, and applies the stain and finish you pick. We also take care of floor repair and subfloor repair when a spot feels soft, squeaky or water damaged. You can see everything we offer on our flooring services page.
Our showroom sits in the heart of Clayton on Clayton Blvd. (Hwy 70), just minutes from Flowers Plantation, with easy front-door parking. Most of our residential customers live within about an hour's drive, including Raleigh, Garner, Smithfield, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Wendell and Wake Forest.
We're also in and out of neighborhoods like Riverwood, Glen Laurel and Archer Lodge all the time, helping families update older floors and make newer homes feel more like their own.

Most of our customers around Clayton and Raleigh spend about $8 to $15 per square foot for solid hardwood installed, and about $7 to $13 for engineered. Refinishing usually runs $3 to $6 per square foot. Species, plank width and your subfloor all play a part, so a free in-home measure gets you a real number.
We carry featured product lines, including Mohawk, Karastan, Stanton, Godfrey Hirst and Aladdin Commercial. For hardwood, Mohawk is our main line, including their TecWood engineered floors. We're also the area's exclusive dealer for Karastan and Stanton, which is handy if you're pairing new hardwood with carpet, a stair runner or a rug.
It really depends on your home. Solid hardwood can be refinished more times and works great over wood subfloors on your main level. Engineered hardwood stays more stable when humidity changes and can go over concrete slabs. Both have real wood on top. We'll look at your space and help you pick the right one.
It can be, and Maizy would definitely vote yes! Harder species like hickory and oak, a matte finish and a textured surface all help hide scratches. Keep nails trimmed and wipe up water bowl spills fast. If you want something tougher and waterproof, we'll show you RevWood as a wood look option too.
Most rooms take one to three days once your flooring is here. Prefinished and engineered floors go faster. Unfinished hardwood takes longer because we sand, stain and finish it on site, plus drying time. Some wood also needs a few days to settle into your home first. We'll give you a clear timeline up front.
